Get Involved

You can participate in many different collaboration levels of effort, resources, and impact. And, you won’t be doing it alone. Options include:

Everyone

Anyone and Everyone:
• Share project opportunities with others
• Reach out to share what you know or to join the collaboration
• Encourage people to look at STEM careers 
• Sign up for our quarterly email newsletter


Educators

Educator:
• Promote opportunities for students in STEM
• Participate in industry outreach educator field trips
• Participate in STEM professional development and conferences
• Host industry representatives in your classroom
• Work with industry to refine curricula to meet their needs
• Conduct class field trips
• Participate in industry externships
• Start a STEM-oriented student organization and compete with other schools (Robotics, Drones, Coding)
• Become a Project Lead The Way certified educator (WV Career Collaborative PLTW Program Development Scholarship Application)

High school educators are also encouraged to apply for one of the High School Work-Based Learning Coordinator roles the collaborative has available. You can find the full description and application online at the Google Forms Link below:

Industry Representatives

Industry Representative:
• Meet with a small group (e.g., EDA’s, educators, and/or students) to explore how we can improve the STEM pipeline
• Attend Career Fairs
• Participate in an Industry Advisory Board at FSU or GSU, or a local high school
• Help create virtual job shadow videos
• Host job shadows for students and/or educators
• Host student and/or educator field trips
• Develop micro internships, and/or full internships for STEM students
• Collaborate with educators on STEM curriculum development and delivery
• Donations of time/money/resources
